Herman Haydin, a student at the Kyiv National University Of Construction And Architecture in the Ukraine, has designed a robot bartender that comes in the form of a flying drone called the Yura.
Yura is a flying droid bartender concept that can make the user’s favorite beverage and deliver it to the user directly. The flying drone concept was short-listed as a part of the Top 35 Finalists in the Electrolux Design Lab.
The drone bartender can concoct any beverage, including cocktails, coffee and tea, with the accurate amount of calories for the user’s body. The robot can be activated using voice commands or by sending it a message or an instruction using phones or computers.
The flying droid has sensory body screens and a computer brain that can manage the power settings, navigation map, voice commands, as well as WiFi and software downloads. The droid’s smart brain will configure the temperature of liquids, and the number of calories, carbohydrates, fats, and proteins for the drink.
The robot also has a smart cartridge for liquids and can heat or cool beverages as needed. The cartridge comes in different sizes and features a stylized Electrolux logo that shows the state of the liquid inside. The robot uses spherical folding cups to serve the drinks, though it can also serve the drinks in the user’s cup.
The Yura droid is a silent flier and is also designed to be a self-recharging robot. According to the description on the project page, it works with kinetic energy, similar to how Japanese luxury watches work.
Users can customize their flying droid by choosing the colors they want for its parts and shell.
The Electrolux Design Lab is an annual global design competition that invites undergraduate and graduate design students to create their own innovative ideas for the household. The competition was established in 2003, and this year’s design brief called for “Creating Healthy Homes” under three focus areas: Culinary Enjoyment, Fabric Care, and Air Purifying.
